Fine Art Nouveau vase by Emile Gallé, 1900’s
A gorgeous Art Nouveau vase from the 1900’s by French artist Emile Gallé who specialises in glass work and is considered to be one of the major forces in the French Art Nouveau movement.
After a successful showing at the Paris Exhibition of 1889, Gallé had reached international fame. As shown with this vase, his style emphasises naturalism and floral motifs. He was a humanist with a close affinity for people and was involved in organizing evening schools for the working class. Here is a unique vase with beautiful curved lines and superb colours in line with the spirit of Art Nouveau and the belief that “Art should be a way of life”!
