“Full speed!”

A very charming original 1960-70s acrylic painting (52 x 42 cm) by Magnus Engstrom depicting a car race. Looking at it, you are at the heart of a Motor Grand Prix and you can nearly hear the roar of the engines. It’s a captivating scene with a mix of sharp and neutral colours aesthetically arranged to capture the discreet light splashing the track. If you love car racing, you can only fall in love with this unusual classy painting beautifully framed in gold. Give it the right light, give it the right space, and this will become a highlight in your home or office.

“A great ride!”

With its exquisite design, this “For Hire” taxi fare meter comes directly from vintage India where those mechanical meters have been discontinued in the iconic Padmini taxis. The end of an era for those tiny Fiat sedan style cars from the 1960s. Just looking at it, you can imagine the kilometers it has counted time and again in the busy streets of Mumbai (then Bombay) or other wonderfully lively Indian cities where rupees and paisa have added up on the trusted meter. This device was usually flipped over to start the price running. Here is a wonderful piece of travel heritage to grace your bookshelves with an intriguing design.

“A table you’ve never seen!”

We have seen many beautiful tables at Museum Concept, but a gorgeous one like this, never. This 1880s long wagon coffee table is simply remarkable. At 282 cm long, it’s practical, exceptional (check the wheels and the wood patina) and historical. This table comes from the 19th-century textile factories of northern France where it was used to ship clothes and materials from one building to another. You could give us a million dollars for another same exact one but there are no two like this in the world.

Here is an astonishing piece of sophistication from the past with this very rare bronze cashier. Made in Ohio, USA, in the late years of the 19th century, it was shipped to Lyon, France, where it had been in use in a local store for over a century, and now it is in Hong Kong. Finding it a home in the USA would make the world tour complete but it will grace any space anywhere. This still-working cashier is a pure beauty, whatever the angle you look at it, It’s built to impress.

“The Little Prince!”

What better book than The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry ? “All grown-ups were once children… but only few of them remember it.” The imagination of children, the way they look at things, their pure logic are keys to happiness and wellbeing. Listen to your child’s heart, “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.” “And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

“Paris of the 18th century!”

The Turgot map of Paris was published in 1739 as an atlas of 20 non-overlapping sectional bird’s-eye view maps (at a scale of approximately 1/400). Each sectional map is 50 cm high (only 48 cm in the first row) by 80. It has been described as “the first all-comprising graphical inventory of the French capital, down to the last orchard and tree, detailing every house and naming even the most modest street.

In 1734 Michel-Étienne Turgot, chief of the municipality of Paris, decided to promote the reputation of Paris by implementing a new map of the city. He asked Louis Bretez, member of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture, to draw up the plan of Paris and its suburbs.

Museum Concept has now got the 1950s reproduction of 6 panels for sale. Displayed together, they will bring an infinite source of discovery to your space, a journey back in time.

You can immerse yourself into the Paris of the 18th century here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2so6ub . Enjoy!
